Choosing The Right Type of Glass For Your Project

Jun. 05, 2018

Laminated Glass:

Laminated glass is recommended when designing or installing glass treads and railings. In the event where the glass is shattered, laminated glass would hold in place by an inter-layer between two layers of glass. This type of glass allows the shattered glass panel to stay intact, which is particularly ideal for commercial spaces.Laminated glass can reduce noise pollution.Even when broken, punctured chipped, it will not fall apart or shatter.

Tempered Glass:

Tempered glass is a type of safety glass which is processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength. When tempered glass is shattered, it is broken up into smaller granular chunks instead of jagged glass shards. This makes the shattered glass safer and less likely to cause injury.Tempered glass is 5 times harder than ordinary float glass, stronger resistance to thermal breakage than annealed or heat strengthened glass.
